- An official software version of the bass synthesiser is available now.
The TB-303 is now part of Roland's catalogue of software instruments.
Like Roland's Boutique series and other products available on its cloud service, the TB-303 uses ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) technology to recreate the sound of the game-changing synthesiser.
The look and workflow of the original hardware has been retained, although the notoriously confusing sequencer has been supplemented with a graphic interface and playback options like random, reverse and invert. A VCF Trim control has been added to recreate the different filter characters found on the various versions of the 303, while a Condition parameter replicates the sound of aged circuitry. There are also various favours of overdrive, compression and delay on board.
It's available now as part of Roland Cloud's subscription service.
The Japanese company also recently filed to trademark the TB-303 and TR-808 designs, which have been copied by various manufacturers for over a decade.
