  • Rush Hour is releasing an LP by Turkish group Insanlar this spring. Insanlar, which means "humankind," counts the DJ Baris K and multi-instrumentalist Cem Yildiz, who appeared on Acid Arab's 2016 album Musique De France, as members. Demedim Mi features a 45-minute "shamanistic techno folk song" of the same name split over two parts. It was intended to be a "traditional Alewi 'deyis' song, with lyrics," according to the Amsterdam label, though it evolved into an "instrumental folk hymn" during recording. Insanlar's last and only other release was the Kime Ne, released in 2013 on the Turkish label Aboov Plak and then two years later on Honest John's with two Ricardo Villalobos versions. Listen to a preview of the LP.
