- The three-day Cambridgeshire event takes its name from a jazz compilation released on Peterson's Brownswood label in 2018.
Gilles Peterson is launching a new UK festival in partnership with Worldwide FM and Brownswood Recordings.
We Out Here, which will be Peterson's first foray into the UK festival market, takes its name from a London-centric jazz compilation released on Peterson's Brownswood label in February 2018. Though no lineup has been confirmed for the three-day August event in Cambridgeshire, artists from the compilation—which featured Moses Boyd, Shabaka Hutchings and Kokoroko—are expected to perform, in addition to DJs and soundsystem acts. The lineup and venue will be revealed on February 6th.
"What's amazing about the scene here is that there's so much legacy as well as so much future," said Peterson. "It really is about bringing all that together on one amazing site."
We Out Here will join French and Swiss festival Worldwide on Peterson's festival portfolio. Check out a promo clip for the new event, and watch a longer documentary about London's jazz scene.
