  • Fennesz will release his seventh LP, Agora, in March. "It's a simple story," says the Austrian guitarist and composer, who's been releasing ambient and electro-acoustic music since the mid-'90s. "I had temporarily lost a proper studio workspace and had to move all my gear back to a small bedroom in my flat where I recorded this album. It was all done on headphones, which was rather a frustrating situation at first, but later on it felt like back in the day when I produced my first records in the 1990s." The result is four longform ambient compositions created with minimal equipment in a small studio, incorporating field recordings and original vocals. Last year Fennesz contributed to the Ryuichi Sakamoto remix album. His last solo album was Mahler Remix in 2014. The London launch for the album goes down at The Jazz Cafe on March 12th, where Fennesz will headline with support from Ash Koosha and Sunda Arc. Tickets are available on RA. Listen to a mega-cut of all four tracks from Agora.
