  • Dekmantel will reissue a collection of Djax-Up-Beats classics in February. Djax-Up-Beats, a Dutch techno label founded in 1988 by Miss Djax, played a pivotal role in defining dance music in the '90s. Cuts from its Chicago and Detroit-influenced catalog are still in heavy rotation today. Djax-Re-Up Volume 1 reissues "raw, analog, acid burners" from some of the label's Chicago staples, including Glenn Underground, Mr K-Alexi and Felix Da Housecat. Their European counterparts, such as Random XS, Terrace and Ismistik (AKA Bjørn Torske), also offer timeless takes on Midwestern sound. Djax-Re-Up Volume 1 is part of a vinyl-only reissue series. The second volume will follow in April. Listen to previews.
