- "It would be nice to funnel year-end list mania through a channel that actually pays people," she says.
Avalon Emerson has started a new website to share Bandcamp lists.
Buy Music Club came out of an idea to share the Berlin producer's favourite releases of 2018 with an option to buy them. Emerson designed the site in collaboration with Louis Center and Ignatius Gilfedder.
"DJs and many dance music fans don't just casually stream music—we buy it, too," she says on the website. "And since Bandcamp is currently one of the most equitable music vendors online, discovering and buying music there is one of the best ways to support independent artists and record labels. It would be nice to funnel year-end list mania through a channel that actually pays people."
Buy Music Club currently features lists curated by Avalon Emerson, Nathan Micay, Or:la, Roi Perez and more. It also accepts user submissions.
