  • London festival Field Day has found a new venue for 2019. Located at an old gas works, Meridian Water consists of a ten-acre outdoor space and four interconnected warehouses, the largest of which has a capacity of 7,500. "This new site will allow us to break down the restrictions that London festivals are normally faced with," said festival director Luke Huxham. Most notably for partygoers, Enfield Council has given Field Day the green light to go later than any other London festival, as part of its aim to create a 24-hour neighbourhood. This is the second consecutive year that Field Day has changed locations. Last month, the festival confirmed it wouldn't be returning to Brockwell Park, where its 2018 edition faced criticism for overcrowding and residential disruption. That was its first and only year there. Before, Field Day took place at Victoria Park. After Field Day 2019, which will take place across June 7th and 8th, the venue will become a permanent festival and event space run by Printworks' owners Broadwick Live. Check out photos of the space.
