- The Detroit producer and DJ's second full-length comes on his own Watusi High label.
Jay Daniel has a new album called Tala on the way.
The second LP from the rising Detroit producer looks beyond the club sounds of his 2016 debut album, Broken Knowz. "It's an invitation to get to know me outside of DJing," Daniel says of the album, which he'll put out on his own Watusi High. "I only have these conversations with myself and my gear." The press release notes that the record also nods to Obatala, "the father of all Orishas in the Yoruba tradition, who gives shape to human beings."
Tala is Daniel's first solo release in two years, though he put out a collaborative cassette as Audire on Watusi High last year.
