Gudrun Gut is putting out a new album on her Monika Enterprise label.
Moment features 14 new tracks from the German electronic music pioneer, including a cover of David Bowie's 1979 track "Boys Keep Swinging." The press release says the LP includes "shades of motorik hypnosis, technoid laboratory, coldwave pop and glitchy gauze," with Gut "intoning blunt truths and opaque poetry in both German and English."
Gut is an important figure in German electronic music going back to the late '70s, when she formed the experimental band Din A Testbild. (She was also once a member of Einstürzende Neubauten and started the band Malaria! in the '80s.)
