  • Elevator Sound and Cymru Beats are merging. Based in Bristol and Cardiff respectively, the two synth sellers will together become one of the UK's largest stockists of modules, drum machines, software and other music equipment. Elevator Sound founder and producer Marco Bernardi says the move will double the shops' size and allow customers to test a wide range of new modules. Delivery times will also drop following the merger. After initially working out the back of Bristol's Idle Hands record store, Elevator Sound and the newly merged operation can now be found at 74 Stokes Croft. Following a 12-year stint working at Glasgow's Sound Control, Bernardi opened Elevator Sound in 2014, making it Bristol's first dedicated electronic music hardware shop. Cymru Beats is Wales' leading modular retailer and was based out of Soundworks Studios, an award-winning post-production facility founded in 1991.
