  • Discogs Exclusives is now live in beta mode. The Discogs sub-site will sell rare and hard-to-find records and tapes, including test pressings and special editions that interest collectors. The beta page currently has four products listed, and only one in stock, which is a cassette box set of all of John Carpenter's albums (including his soundtrack to Halloween), out via Sacred Bones. "Discogs Exclusives is a unique opportunity for us to help surface items that aren't available, or readily available, to collectors through the Marketplace," Discogs' director of PR, Jeffrey Smith, tells Resident Advisor. When asked what differentiates these collectables from the kinds of promotional releases that come out on Record Store Day, he explains: "I'm certain that Exclusives isn't going to be a year-long iteration of RSD rarities/represses... You're not going to see pages full of limited-edition color vinyl pressings exclusively available from Discogs. There are other sites providing those pieces for the world. We're much more about finding the things between the cracks." Visit the Discogs Exclusives site.
