  • Moby will publish the second volume of his life story, Then It Fell Apart, via Faber Social in 2019. It's the follow-up to his 2016 book, Porcelain, which documented his time in the New York rave scene leading up to the release of his multi-platinum 1999 album Play. Then It Fell Apart picks up in summer 1999 with the release of that LP. "Suddenly he was hanging out with David Bowie and Lou Reed, Christina Ricci and Madonna," the press release says, "taking ecstasy for breakfast (most days), drinking litres of vodka (every day) and sleeping with supermodels (infrequently). It was a diet that couldn't last. And then it fell apart." Stephen Colbert provides the following description of the book: "Somehow this chronicle of a long, dark night of the soul also involves funny stories involving Trump, Putin and a truly baffling array of degenerates." Moby recently put his collection of 200 drum machines up for sale, with proceeds going to charity.
Faber Social will publish Then It Fell Apart on May 2nd, 2019.
