  • Key Detroit house act Rick Wilhite is releasing a double-EP on Mahogani Music. The Godson IV is the Three Chairs member's first new solo release since Freedom School Dj Series Vol.1, which arrived back in 2013. It's not the first time Wilhite has released on one of Moodymann's labels—three of his early 12-inches came out on KDJ. The vinyl and digital format four-tracker includes a collaboration with the man himself (a rework of the 2007 Moodymann track "Technologystolemyvinyle") while another cut is a Wilhite remix of a production by Folson & Tate. Rubadub says the record is expected to ship in mid-August. Wilhite is also known for his compilations on Rush Hour, the latest of which was 2014's Vibes New & Rare Music 2, Part 2. Mahogani Music, meanwhile, most recently released an album by Amp Fiddler. Listen to clips from The Godson IV.
