  • Penelope Trappes, one half of The Golden Filter, will release her next solo album in October. The London-based Australian artist signed to fabric's in-house label Houndstooth for the record, which is her second solo LP after last year's Penelope One on Optimo Music. This one was inspired a year an empath with two dear friends who lost very close loved ones," Trappes says. "One lost nearly her whole family in an accident and the other lost his partner of 23 years after she gave birth to their third child. Echoing distance, pain, love and infinity—this album is dedicated to them." The label says that Trappes turns "swathes of tones, textures and emotions into something ethereal but also powerful, like an evocation of spirits," and says the LP is "deeply melodic." It follows the release of The Golden Filter's "Talk Talk Talk," which has been a favourite of DJs like Dixon and Âme this summer, and an album from The Golden Filter last year. Listen to "Carry Me."
