  • East London music conference Take Note Academy will return this year in partnership with Resident Advisor. The one-day event aims to inspire the next generation of electronic music professionals through a mix of talks, panels, masterclasses, one-on-one mentoring and live performances. "The music industry is one of the most exciting and rewarding career choices but can be difficult to break in to and a constant challenge to navigate," said founder Bianca Mayhew. "It is important to find your place and be creatively fulfilled on your own unique path to 'success.'" Take Note will run from 10 AM through 8 PM at Second Home in East London. The bulk of the day will be dedicated to the conference, with around 25 artists and industry figures discussing topics such as social media, London's changing club scene and how to run a successful record label. HAAi, Ben Pearce, B.Traits, William Aspden (XL Recordings), Pedro Vila (Drumcode) and Vidhi Gandhi (Ninja Tune) are among the participants. There will also be a series of masterclasses. Cassy will share her tips on DJing, while Matador, Tom Demac and Kasra talk production. DJ and radio host Martha will lead a workshop on broadcasting. At 6 PM, the classes will break for drinks, followed by some live music to close. More names will be added in the coming weeks.
Conference passes are available here on RA. The first 100 passes sold will also include a free limited-run T-shirt from the RA Store.
