- The label will tell stories about Govor's experiences in the music industry through self-written comics.
Julia Govor is launching a "multidisciplinary" label called Jujuka.
The idea behind the New York-based, Russian-born producer's label is to share narratives about her own experience in the dance, both as an artist and a raver. Each record will come with a comic, written by Govor and drawn by London duo Le.BLUE, meant to offer "a terribly honest and satirical insight into real and relatable experiences as a partygoer," according to the label.
The first release, simply titled Jujuka 01, features three new tracks from Govor. The accompanying comic tells the story of a young raver, with depictions of Ricardo Villalobos, Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin. (See an excerpt below.)
