  • Pantha Du Prince has announced a nature-themed live project that will make its debut this summer. Conference Of Trees was conceived, says the German artist, AKA Hendrik Weber, to translate the sound of the forest into music. He'll lead an ensemble of musicians (Håkon Stene, Bendik Hovik Kjeldsberg and Manuel Chittka), a light designer, a video artist and a costume designer at Kampnagel during Hamburg's International Summer Festival, where the project will make its debut on August 13th. (The jazz composer Friedrich Paravicini also assisted with the song arrangements.) "With this project we want to give a new meaning to the forest and the trees in our immediate surroundings and emphasize its value and intelligence," said Weber. "Without forests we would not exist as humans on this planet." Listen to a classic Pantha Du Prince cut, "Stick To My Side."
