Sydney promoter Picnic will launch a new six-stage event called Maximum Joy on July 1st.
The 11-hour party will take over all six floors of the Kings Cross Hotel from 2 PM, with Joe Claussell, Dopplereffekt, Veronica Vasicka and Kuniyuki among the international guests billed. Each room will be curated by a different local crew, with the exception of the rooftop which Tako and Jamie Tiller of Amsterdam label Music From Memory will host with Dip in the Pool and Michal Turtle.
Moving down the building, Picnic and The House Of Mince will take control of the Bordello floor, Heavenly handle the club, homegrown labels Ken Oath, Moonshoe and Moontown showcase downstairs, Midnight Swim host a disco diner on the balcony and Ten Pieces bring the Rude Club to the basement. The domestic lineup, which runs two-dozen strong, includes sets from Sleep D, Simon Caldwell, Adi Toohey, Lauren Hansom, Kato, Low Flung, Hani Hanbali, Mike Who, Ben Drayton, Freda & Jackson, Karim & Daniel Lupica, Tim Boyd and Ariane.
