  • Head Technician, the techno-leaning alias of Pye Corner Audio, has released a new album on Ecstatic. Profane Architecture is Martin Jenkins' second Head Technician album, following 2015's Zones (though he's referred to himself by this title since Pye Corner Audio emerged back in 2010). As the title might suggest, the eight-track LP takes inspiration from Brutalist architecture and sees Jenkins returning to the classic Roland kit he used on Zones—the new full-length was made exclusively using Roland TR-606, MC-202 and TB-303 as well as the Roland System 100 modular. Jenkins also takes on the influence of early Detroit and UK bleep techno, Boomkat notes, while continuing to mine acid and hauntological sounds. It will come on limited color as well as black vinyl in addition to digital formats. Ecstatic, run by Alessio Natalizia (Not Waving), recently released the debut LP from Sterile Hand, the collaborative project from Silent Servant and Lower Tar. Earlier this year, Pye Corner Audio contributed to a split on Silent Servant's Jealous God label, providing three tracks to complement a collaboration between Silent Servant and Marcel Dettmann on the Issue N° Twenty Two EP.
