  • Dominick Fernow, AKA Prurient, has just released his latest album as Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement. Red Ants Genesis was recorded live (with no audience) at an "undisclosed venue in Paris," according to an email from Fernow. The release is meant to show the transformation of Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, once an anonymous project, from a one-man studio act into a live entity. It features a full performance on the A-side and three edits on the B, including work from French producer Philippe Hallais, AKA Low Jack. Hallais will perform live with Fernow and Silent Servant as Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement at the upcoming Sónar Festival in Barcelona in June. Silent Servant appeared on the last Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement album, Ambient Black Magic, last fall. The tape comes on Fernow's Hospital Productions label, and follows a live recording of Regis earlier this month. For more on Fernow and his projects, read our 2017 feature here. Those in New York can catch Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement live at Elsewhere this coming Saturday, March 24th.
