Japan's Rural announces first names for 2018 festival

  • The first six names for Rural 2018 have been revealed. Antenes tops the list of acts heading to Nagano Prefecture in central Japan for the camping festival's tenth edition from July 14th to 17th. The Brooklyn artist will DJ as well as perform live with her modular rig constructed from telephone switchboards. Vladimir Ivkovic will make his Rural debut, while Jane Fitz returns for her third appearance since 2015 and DJ Nobu makes it eight straight years at the festival. To round things off, Akiko Kiyama and Ena will premiere their collaborative live show. Since making its debut in 2009, Rural has established itself as one of the country's most reputable techno events, bringing a select few internationals guest and a range of domestic talent to Japan's mountainous countryside. This year's festival will take place at Uchiyama Farm Camping Site for a second time. More names will be announced in the coming months. Listen to Vladimir Ivkovic's RA podcast.
