- Everything we love about electronic music, in one series. The first events are in Berlin, Tbilisi and New York.
In 2018 Resident Advisor will embark on 24/7, a series of 24-hour events taking place at seven different locations.
Working with some of the world's foremost party-throwers, collectives and crews, we'll be celebrating electronic music in all its forms. The extended, trippy daytime sessions, the chillout rooms, the techno dungeons—every part of the scene has its time and place. We're bringing them together in multi-roomed spaces across the globe, curating a range of disciplines across seven individual events, each lasting 24 hours. One day and one night. Local artists, live performances, films, installations, workshops, discussion and raves.
The series starts on June 9th at Berlin's ://about blank. The space lends itself naturally to the series, with a maze of rooms and a sun-drenched outdoor area. Then we'll visit Tbilisi on June 29th for our first event at Bassiani since the In Residence series. (Bassiani's main room was where the idea for 24/7 emerged: it was 11 AM Sunday, DJ Qu had been playing for far longer than he was obligated, and the crowd showed no sign of letting up.) Not only is it the first-ever 24-hour event in the space, in keeping with the spirit of the series we're opening up a previously unused terrace especially for the daytime session.
July sees us heading to New York, and where better to spend 24 hours than Nowadays in Ridgewood, Queens, with its high-spec sound, varied listening events and beautiful outdoor area.
Our music programming teams have specifically curated each event with the party-goer's experience at any point within the 24 hours the ultimate consideration. Ambient artists in the morning sun, garage in the late afternoon, 145 BPM techno as you edge into hour 20. Alongside the 24-hour soundtrack we've selected films, commissioned installations and invited some of our scene's most charismatic characters to speak their mind.
The series will then head to Milan in September, Bogota in October, Melbourne in November and, finally, London in January of 2019. The venues for those cities, as well as the lineups, will be revealed over the coming months.
Each event will have a limited capacity, so as an RA reader we recommend you register your interest to access tickets before they go on general sale. You can do so here.
