  • Venetian Snares and Daniel Lanois will release a collaborative album, Venetian Snares X Daniel Lanois, in May. It's an unlikely meeting of musical minds: Venetian Snares, real name Aaron Funk, is a breakcore innovator, while Lanois is best known for working with the likes of Brian Eno, U2, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Lanois reached out to Funk first, in 2014, which lead to "several years of creative germination" before they recorded the album live in Toronto inside a former Buddhist temple. Funk handled the drums while Lanois played pedal steel. The LP will see release through Funk's own Timesig label in partnership with Planet Mu. Stream opening track "Mag11 P82."
