  • A new album from Rod Modell's ambient and dub techno group Shorelights is on the way via Subwax Bcn. Ancient Lights is the second LP from Shorelights, a collaboration between Modell, AKA DeepChord, Walter Wasacz and Christopher McNamara that looks to North America's Great Lakes for inspiration. Like last year's Summer Cottage Soundscapes LP, issued on echospace [detroit], this one is made up of a single continuous track measuring just over an hour in length. Subwax Bcn describes it as "ambient for body and spirit" that expands on the trio's sound by "heading into deeper territories of inner and outer space." While it's technically one long track, Shorelights divided Ancient Lights into eight titled sections. It will come on CD, double-vinyl and digital formats. Listen to some samples of the album.
