  • Resident Advisor and Absolut will bring back Alternate Cuts for a series of parties with three of the UK's best party crews. An event in Liverpool on Thursday, March 29th, is up first. It will go down in conjunction with Meine Nacht, an event series with a focus on unseen spaces. Frankfurt veteran Roman Flügel will headline the 250-capacity mixed arts space 24 Kitchen Street with a set of '90s rave, a style he spun in the early stages of his career. Next up it's Bristol on Thursday, April 5th. It will be the first time the venue, Loco Klub, has been used for a club date. Steffi, who specialises in techno, house and electro, will spin an Italo and new wave set for a session cohosted by Bitch, Please!, an LGBT+ party with a focus on bringing different communities together. The series wraps up in Manchester on Wednesday, April 25th. We'll partner with the all-female Meat Free collective for a session with Donato Dozzy at the 300-capacity Soup Kitchen, a venue that recently renovated its basement bar. Dozzy, an Italian artist best known for deep and hypnotic techno, has been given free rein over the night's music for a "No Boundaries" set, which means you could hear anything from drum & bass to ambient. (His wide-ranging tastes were on full display during his closing set at last year's Terraforma festival in Italy.) Resident Advisor and Absolut launched Alternate Cuts in 2017 to promote nightlife sustainability by spotlighting crews and intimate venues at the heart of their local scenes. Tickets for each of the parties will be £6. To register your interest, RSVP here. All ticket and bar proceeds from the series will be donated to Stonewall.
