For a second week running, Concrete, Batofar, Petit Bain, Nuits Fauve and Faust have confirmed they will close.
Several clubs and venues in Paris have been forced to cancel another weekend of events due to heavy flooding of the Seine.
Heavy rainfall has hit the French capital in recent weeks, causing the river to rise roughly four metres above its normal level for this time of year, according to the BBC. For the second week running, boat venues like Concrete, Batofar and Petit Bain, plus riverside spots Nuits Fauves and Faust, have all posted via social media confirming they will not open this weekend. "Good morning," wrote Concrete via Facebook. "Still because of the flood, we will have to, with great regret, cancel the events of the weekend." (Translated from French.)
Among the events affected are Token and Minibar showcases at Concrete, and the closing party of Batofar, which is due to undergo renovations before reopening in autumn. (The closing party has been rescheduled to February 24th.) Berghain resident Norman Nodge, who was due to play a four-hour set at Nuits Fauves tonight, will now perform at Social Club (142 Rue Montmartre) instead.
The scenes of this week mirror those of June 2016, when the Seine burst its banks after water levels rose to 6.1m. Paris's clubs and venues were similarly affected. Here are some pictures of the recent floods, courtesy of The Guardian.
