  • A new label called Vaagner launches in February. Vaagner will seek out rare and obscure tapes, working with the artists behind the music to have it remastered and released on vinyl. The reissues will feature full cover artwork, a printed insert and a download code—which in some cases will also mark the first proper digital edition for the release. Occasionally they'll include goodies like bonus tracks and alternate versions, or something will be kept off the wax and exclusive to the original tape. Up first and due out later this month is a double-vinyl version of an OAKE live recording, Live In Marseille, that originally came out in 2015 on Ascetic House. The recording was split into four tracks, each taking a side of wax. Next up will be music from prolific UK producer Zen Zsigo, AKA Cremation Lily. That one will feature the two pieces from 2015's Fragments Of Hologram Snow tape, originally credited to Winter Orbit, on the A-side, while the flip offers a new two-track suite. Swedish artists Acronym and Korridor, as well as Istanbul-based drone and shoegaze musician Ekin Fil, are also on the books for future records. Listen to the first part of Live In Marseille.
