  • Radio Slave's Rekids label is launching an offshoot for reissues called R-Time Records. We're told that Matt Edwards (AKA Radio Slave) intends to have R-Time "shine a light on classic tracks that didn't always get the recognition they deserve." Its first release collects music from Sir Lord Comixx, a UK producer who Edwards has known for more than two decades—the two grew up in the same London neighborhood, and Edwards' Hard Up label put out a now-rare Sir Lord Comixx record back in 1996. The Retroactive (Part One) 12-inch features four cuts, ranging from the late-'90s tracks "1 4 The Groove" and "Funk Box" (the latter credited to a.Moon) through to 2005's "Azid Jazz" and 2014's previously digital-only "Enemax." Early this year, Rekids put out a Radio Slave two-tracker that counted as its landmark 100th release. Listen to "Azid Jazz."
