- Rodrigues, who's also known as ROD and Rod Malmok, is putting out Retro7 next week.
Benny Rodrigues is introducing a new alias, Younger Rebinds, with a vinyl double-pack for Gerd Janson's Running Back label.
Younger Rebinds is the latest project from Rodrigues, a versatile Dutch producer known for the techno 12-inches he's put out on Klockworks using the name ROD. Press notes describe the project as an "imaginary band," and its first release, the Retro7 EP, as being "as much new wave as it is electronic disco," while also mentioning "vintage DJ Hell aesthetics, Sterac Electronics and Trevor Jackson's Metal Dance dogma, if its choir would be muted" as points of reference. It marks the first appearance on Running Back for Rodrigues.
News of the EP follows last month's release of Rodrigues' debut album, Back To Square One, credited to Rod Malmok and put out on his new label bearing the same name.
