  • Jeff Derringer has announced his return to music after taking time off for cancer treatment. The Chicago techno veteran took a break from performing earlier this year when he announced that he was fighting a cancer relapse. With his treatment coming to an end, he's announced a new EP called Control, which will launch his Oktave Records label. Plans for the label were made in the period between Derringer's surgery and chemotherapy treatment, which is when he organised the first record's design and mastering. The label takes its name from Oktave, the long-running techno party Derringer throws at smartbar. The Chicago spot, which counts Derringer as a resident, will host a cancer benefit on October 14th. Derringer expects to be back behind the decks in early December. Listen to "Control."
