  • Surgeon, Regis and Broken English Club have remixed Talker on the next Standards & Practices release. Battle Standards Remixes brings together three longtime UK techno innovators, who each have a go at tracks Karl Meier and Jon "Stave" Krohn released as Talker on the EP that launched Standards & Practices over the summer. Anthony Child and Karl O'Connor remix "Battle Standard" itself, while Oliver Ho uses his Broken English Club alias for a vocal remix of "Snub Nose." Also on the release is the Talker ambient track "My Favorite Color Is Gold," which now gets a vinyl issue after appearing on a limited-edition CD compilation two years ago. Due out in late November, Battle Standards Remixes is the third release for Standards & Practices, which is run by Karl Meier, Ken Meier and Krohn, after the Talker EP and a solo Stave EP. It continues a connection between Talker and O'Connor, whose Downwards label put out the duo's first records starting in 2014. Karl Meier, who's known each remixer for much longer, years ago worked at O'Connor's defunct distribution service Integrale Muzique. Listen to samples.
