  • Argot is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a new compilation called American Dance Music Vol. 1. The eight-track digital release (with a four-track vinyl version) features a number of Midwestern techno and house producers, including this week's RA podcaster Noncompliant, Savile and Todd Osborn, along with a new project from The Black Madonna and Rupert Murray called Throwing Shapes. Olin, the talent buyer at Chicago club smartbar, and Alex Falk also contribute. Tracks from Throwing Shapes, Savile, Osborn and Olin will appear on the vinyl version. American Dance Music Vol. 1 will land on Friday, October 27th, and that night will see an Argot showcase take place at smartbar.
