  • Sampha has won the 2017 Mercury Prize for his album Process. The UK artist, real name Sampha Sisay, beat out The xx, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Alt-J and others for the prestigious music prize, which comes with £20,000 in cash. Last year Skepta took home the prize, over Anohni, Radiohead and David Bowie. Other electronic-oriented past winners include James Blake and Portishead. Process came out this past February on Young Turks.
