- The Berlin clubbing institution celebrates the milestone with new tracks from Butch and Ellen Allien.
Watergate is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a compilation, Watergate XV.
It comes in the form of a boxset containing five vinyl 12-inches, a double CD pack, a book called Sound Travels by Linus Deckesser, illustrations by Frank Höhne and two tickets to the club itself. Due out on November 6th, the boxset will be available in an edition of 1000, with the vinyl version containing 22 tracks, while the CDs fit in 25. They're all new productions and come from Watergate residents like Matthias Meyer, Tiefschwarz, La Fleur, Cinthie and Jimi Jules as well as associates such as Butch, Ellen Allien, Henrik Schwarz, Osunlade, Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Anja Schneider.
The Berlin club's landlord doubled the rent after the building housing the venue was sold earlier this year, placing the future of the club on "fragile terrain."
