- Due out next month, the record features a cover of the 1995 Nookie track "Sound Of Music" that has Katy B on vocals.
Hot Creations' 100th release is an EP from label cofounder Jamie Jones called Kooky Music.
Kooky Music is made up of four cuts, starting with a cover of the 1995 drum & bass track "Sound Of Music" from Nookie that Jones recorded with Katy B. Another tune, "Positive Pressure," features Hot Creations affiliate Kevin Knapp. The EP will be out in late September.
"I'm so honored to be releasing the 100th record on Hot Creations," Jones says. "It's been an incredible journey to reach this point and I can't wait for the next 100."
Jones and Lee Foss launched Hot Creations back in 2010, and the playful, often pop-inflected style of house, disco and tech house they championed through the label quickly attracted a global following. Since Jones' Ruckus EP started things off seven years ago, records on Hot Creations have come from the likes of Danny Daze, Benoit & Sergio, Miguel Campbell, Patrick Topping and Richy Ahmed, while both Jones and Foss have appeared with solo releases and together as Hot Natured. The label also has a couple of offshoots, Hot Waves and HOTTRAX.
