  • Moscow nightclub Rabitza is closing following a police raid on Sunday, August 6th, which saw physical force used against club staff and partygoers. The club announced the decision with a Facebook post, citing an inability to ensure the safety of its guests at its current location. "Given the current climate, and despite all the love that Rabitza was full of, we've decided to close the club at its current location," the statement reads. "This decision was based on safety considerations: the current address can no longer guarantee safety for our guests at any events." The owners have hired lawyers—whose fees were partly funded by public donations—to gain access to the venue and the equipment inside, which had been seized by police. However, the venue is calling on volunteers to help with dismantling the club with a view to finding a new location. All upcoming parties have been cancelled.
