  • A new Shigeto album, The New Monday, is on the way via Ghostly International. Due out in October, The New Monday is Detroit producer Zachary Saginaw's first Shigeto LP since No Better Time Than Now back in 2013. The nine-track album—which takes its name from the weekly event series he helps throw at Motor City Wine called Monday Is The New Monday—is described as being influenced by "the community of Detroit" while "leaning more into a dance music direction." It marks a shift for an artist known for making downtempo and abstract hip hop tracks, and includes collaborations with ZelooperZ, Kaleena Zanders and Silas Green. Saginaw has been a fixture on Ghostly since 2010, and earlier this year he started his own label, Portage Garage Sounds, alongside his brother Benjamin. Watch a video for The New Monday's opening track, "Detroit Part II."
