  • Quiet Time has released two new tapes. The series gives artists around 30 minutes on one side of a cassette to showcase original work—that could mean a live recording, mixtape or an extended piece. The next two releases feature Hamburg artist Phil Struck and New York's Solpara. Struck's contribution was made with field recordings, samples from world music records and a Vermona synthesizer, "all run through an old mixer," according to the label, while Solpara's is "made of freaky modular and found sound recordings." As with previous releases, each release comes with two copies of the tape, as well as a zine designed by the artist. The first wave of Quiet Time tapes from last year came from Huerco S and Aquarian, among others. Listen to both tapes.
