  • Warp Records has published an interview, conducted by Aphex Twin, with Tatsuya Takahashi, as well as a new Aphex Twin tune titled "Korg Funk 5." In the article, which runs to more than 6,000 words, the Warp artist and the engineer, famous for a ten-year tenure at Korg that ended in February, discuss microtuning, custom scales and the Korg monologue, for which Aphex Twin, AKA Richard D James, contributed several features. The interview also offers extensive insights into the pair's respective working practices and Takahashi's design philosophy. Takahashi, who now lives in Cologne, has been lauded for his work on synths—including the Minilogue, Monologue, Monotribe and Volca series—designed to be accessible and affordable. He maintains a relationship with the firm as an advisor. Listen to Aphex Twin's "Korg Funk 5," which was made with Korg synthesisers and includes vocals from James's son.
