- The new LP from Andy Butler's band is out on September 1st.
Hercules & Love Affair will release its next album, Omnion, on September 1st.
The new one follows Hercules' 2014 LP, The Feast Of The Broken Heart, and sees bandleader Andy Butler continuing to produce for an array of singers. Butler looks beyond the dance floor for Omnion, working with regular collaborators Rouge Mary and Gustaph, but also branching out to collaborate with NYC singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten and Lebanese indie band Mashrou' Leila.
"I'm not just a 'head,'" Butler says in the press release. "I'm touched just as much by, say, Sinead O’Connor accompanied only by a guitar, singing an intensely spirited message."
Omnion also addresses Butler's drug addiction—he's been sober for four years)—as well as the current political mood, contributing to Omnion's overall more serious tone. It will come out on Butler's MR.INTL imprint in partnership with Skint and BMG.
