The movie, which begins streaming in July, features George Clinton, Hannibal Buress and Tim Heidecker, plus music from Aphex Twin.
Flying Lotus' film Kuso will hit streaming platforms and select theaters starting July 21st.
Streaming service Shudder has acquired the rights to the film in North America as well as Ireland and the UK. It stars Iesha Coston, Zack Fox, Tim Heidecker, Hannibal Buress and George Clinton, and includes new music from Flying Lotus, Aphex Twin, Thundercat and Akira Yamoaka, among others. Kuso caught a flurry of media attention in January when the film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. It was reportedly so violent and grotesque that it triggered a mass walkout during the screening. You can get a sense of the subject matter in the new teaser below.
"After Kuso played at Sundance," Flying Lotus wrote on Twitter, "Shudder have been on top of this thing. I'm so glad my first film will be in the best home possible."
