- The ten-track release, which features vocals from Cold Cave, Zola Jesus and Michele Lamy, is out next month.
Black Asteroid's first album, Thrust, is on the way.
US artist Bryan Black has been putting out techno and industrial music for more than two decades, both as a solo producer and as a member of a handful of groups, most prominently Motor, his collaboration with Olivier Grasset. (Early in his career he also had a stint as a sound engineer and keyboard technician for Prince.) He first appeared as Black Asteroid in 2011 with The Engine EP on CLR, and the project would appear a few more times on Chris Liebing's label along with Speedy J's Electric Deluxe, before he opened his own Pitch Black imprint last year.
Thrust will see release next month through Last Gang Records. Black worked with his friend, fashion designer Rick Owens, to put together the album's artwork, and Owens' wife Michele Lamy provided vocals for one cut, "Tangiers," which is being released as a single with a remix from Headless Horseman. Cold Cave and Zola Jesus also feature as vocal collaborators on the ten-track record.
