  • Marcus Kaye, the long-serving UK artist known as Marcus Intalex and Trevino, has died. Details surrounding Kaye's death are unclear, but this afternoon artists such as Boddika, DJ Zinc and Andy C posted news of his death via Twitter. "R.I.P my brother," said the drum & bass artist Mampi Swift. "This one of the saddest days in dnb history. Your music will live on in my sets." Kaye had a long and fruitful career, working within both drum & bass and techno. He began releasing music in the '90s, and ran the popular Soul:r and Revolve:r labels. In 2011, Kaye released his debut album, 21, which marked 21 years of involvement with dance music. Although known for his standout drum & bass productions for a large portion of his career, in 2011 Kaye began the techno-focussed Trevino project and went on to release music with 3024, Hotflush Recordings, Klockworks and The Nothing Special. Our thoughts are with his friends and family. We'll bring you more details as we get them.
