Kompakt is releasing an ambient album from Russian artist Anton Kubikov.
The Moscow producer is best known as one half of the SCSI-9 project, which goes back to the late '90s with releases on Force Tracks, Kompakt and its sub-label Immer. He also runs Pro-tez Records, a label he started in 2005 along with Ed Vertov and Maxim Milutenko. Kubikov has also regularly contributed to Kompakt's annual Pop Ambient compilations. "April," a highlight off last year's edition, appears on Whatness, which is Kubikov's first solo album.
