Pablo Mateo's Artful Rifle label will open in May with the release of his own Tentlover EP.
The Berlin-based producer's profile has risen in recent years with records put out on the likes of Die Orakel, Uncage, LACKREC. and Curle—along with one for Marcel Dettmann's MDR, credited to his Wrong Copy alias. After mentioning it in the interview for his RA podcast, which went live this week, he's now revealed initial plans for Artful Rifle, a label that will focus on putting out "non-serious techno music." Its first move is Tentlover, a four-track EP described as an homage to the late American science fiction writer Octavia E. Butler's Xenogenesis book trilogy.
