  • The Smallville record shop in Hamburg is preparing for a location change. Having been situated on Hein-Hoyer-Strasse in St. Pauli for 12 years, the store—and home base of the beloved Smallville Records—will move about a ten-minute walk northeast, to Neuer Kamp 32. Just von Ahlefeld and Julius Steinhoff, the shop and label founders who together go by Smallpeople, say the new spot "offers more space for ideas and room for future projects." Its doors will open to the public at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 4th. The move comes as the Smallville imprint prepares to issue a new EP from STL, and readies a new sub-label, Down By The Lake, which launches soon with a release from Saile. Ahlefeld and Steinhoff are also at work on a new Smallpeople album—it looks to land later this year—and they say "more is to come" from their label's Fuck Reality offshoot.
