  • New Manchester venue The Refuge Basement will host an all-night set from A Love From Outer Space, AKA Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston, in April. The subterranean spot, which sits beneath restaurant and bar The Refuge on Oxford Road, was formerly a pub called Copper Face Jacks. It's now run by Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford, AKA DJ duo The Unabombers, whose storied club night, Electric Chair, will launch the venue on Saturday, April 1st. Two weeks later, on April 15th, Weatherall and Johnston will take the reins, DJing from 11 PM through 4 AM. "The response that we've had to the unveiling of the basement has been phenomenal," said Cowdrey. "It just really seems to resonate with the people of Manchester. Tickets for our Electric Chair party sold out in just three minutes, and we expect just as much demand, if not more, for A Love From Outer Space. It will be interesting to watch the venue grow and evolve through an eclectic mix of one-off gigs." Tickets for A Love From Outer Space are available here on RA.
