  • Pantha Du Prince will follow-up his 2016 LP with The Triad Ambient Versions and The Triad Remixes, due via Rough Trade on June 9th. The German artist, real name Hendrik Weber, made The Triad in collaboration with Queens (AKA longtime Other Music employee and Dial affiliate Scott Mou) and Bendik Kjeldsberg of The Bell Laboratory—his first studio album in six years. He's now revealed an ambient take on that LP, stripping away the beats and vocals that defined the original. "The ambient versions have no beats and the listener gets a more transparent musical picture," Weber says. "The straight columns of rhythm were taken away for a light wind of silence and non-structured fluid movements." Early June also sees Weber issue a remix record based on The Triad. Diynamic co-founder Solomun, Recondite, Efdemin, Shinedoe and Alva Noto have all remixed material off The Triad. Weber will head out on a tour of the US in the month leading up to the release date, starting on May 17th in Chicago. After that it's Miami, Boston, Detroit, New York and New Mexico, and he'll land in Los Angeles for a gig at the Regent Theater on May 25th. The tour will wrap up with stops in San Francisco and Portland on the same weekend. All the info for those events is here on RA. There's no tracklist for either release at this point, but you can listen to the ambient version of "Islands In The Sky" now.
