  • ???? has signed the Russian duo PTU for an EP called A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day, due out on April 7th. Alina Izolenta and Kamil Ea's collaborative project only has a handful of releases to its name. DJ Sotofett's remix of their track "Tuesday Night" landed on a 12-inch for Laton back in 2014, and they contributed a cut to a ???? compilation last year. Laton also released a seven-track CD of theirs, called Hard Week, back in 2009. By way of biography, Nina Kraviz's label explains: "They spent their childhood in Siberia and Volga, and their salad days in music schools and early clubs of their respective home cities. Back then accessing the internet was only possible via pre-paid cards that came in envelopes. Music–via pirate CDs and endlessly slow mp3 downloads. Friendships would stem from copying music from hard drive to hard drive." They began working together under the name PTU in the mid-2000s. Their debut EP for ???? is composed of eight tracks that were recorded between 2014 and 2016, during sessions in Kazan and Moscow. They used only two eight-track samplers. The title track cropped up on Kraviz's RA-recommended fabric 91 mix at the end of last year. Watch a video for "Armlet."
