  • Skirt has chosen to stop performing as a DJ. The Texan-born techno artist announced the decision on Facebook. She describes a building anxiety connected to her appearances as a DJ, which became severe enough for her to "feel immense relief about cancelling a gig." However, she goes on to assure readers that she is "feeling positive about everything else" and is currently working on an album. Skirt, real name Bethany DeMoss, began DJing in the late '90s before relocating to England in the early 2000s. She moved to Birmingham, meeting Surgeon, Regis and Function at the city's infamous House Of God parties, and worked for a time at the Integrale Muzique distribution company while developing her productions. She eventually signed to labels such as Horizontal Ground and Semantica Records, and DJ'd at top clubs like Berghain and fabric. Read the full statement.
